Project Background
Project Year: 2011 - ongoing
Animations are an ongoing projects, most client work requires some kind of animation, be it as a case study, motion design, mixed animations, html5 animations or simple UI animations.
The work is usually done together with a project manager, stakeholders, producers, copywriters and if it is a mix project of animation and real life action film, then I tend to work together with the cameraman.
My role:
As I am passioned about animation and animation styles, I usually am the Lead Story-Boarder or Lead Visual Designer when it comes to animations. I feel comfortable with most animations tools that are out there - After Effects, Animate, XD prototyping or even InVision animation prototyping tools.

Discovery Phase
As with UI and UX – animation usually starts with on-boarding, trying to understand the visual style, the target audience and where the final produced video will be shown – On social media, TV, cinema or in a KeyNote slide.
This gives a great understanding which animation style will suit best the client and which tone of voice should be used.
Script & Storyboard
You can't make a good movie without a great script, this is why it is important to lay out the words first, before the actually production begins.
Working closely with clients & copywriters it is easy to find the right art direction and the voice of tone how to represent the client needs and wants.
Design Phase
Based on the gathered research from client needs, target audience, art style, the tone of voice, the animation can begin.
Here are few examples of the work that I have been involved in and how animation has had a great impact on my visual storytelling & illustration skills.
